Over the weekend, the weather was pretty crummy in Atlanta. Sunday, we were supposed to head to Elijay for a family photo shoot for our good friend Karleen at Carol Parks Catering. Karleen is possibly the nicest person I’ve met here in Atlanta and has had a ton of great advice as I start trying to grow this business. We were totally bummed we had to reschedule, but instead I pulled out the lights and the camera at home and Kristine and I wrangled the boys for a quick impromptu photo shoot.

Thursday, August 27th, 2009Lindsey & Jonas :: Getting Married!
Thursday, August 27th, 2009I met Lindsey and Jonas in Destin last year at a wedding I was shooting. Lindsey was the coordinator for the day, and Jonas was doing the video. They were super cool, but as usual you never know if you’ll see people again. A few months later they contacted me to let me know that they were engaged and wanted me to shoot their wedding! FTW. I couldn’t be more excited about their Ashville wedding in October. Fall leaves and bagpipes? Yes please.
Lindsey and Jonas are both in the ad business here in Atlanta, as producers, so they took their skillz and brought ‘em to their e-session last week. Locations, stylists, wardrobe changes…etc. It was probably the most fun I’ve had shooting in a while. Hopefully the images communicate the fun we had.

Sarah Lawrence
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009Being a photographer based out of Atlanta is great because it really is easy to get to nearby places to shoot, OR to have someone come into town for a project. Sarah Lawrence is a way talented singer-songwriter from Birmingham, AL who’s getting her first big project underway. I can’t wait to hear her stuff and think she’s got a really bright future…she definitely played the part at the shoot!
The shoot was great. It was my first time to rent space at Studio 1FIVEO over near my “office” (Octane Coffee). I met up with Sarah and Lee Gamble (President of High Note Partners…an Atlanta-based marketing consulting firm that offers strategic marketing and branding services to artists and companies in the entertainment industry). Both were so great to work with and we had a great time hanging out for a couple hours, sneaking into a building to shoot, etc etc.
As soon as Sarah’s tunes are done, I’ll be sure to link ‘em up so you can check her out. She’s got this Bonnie Rait/Stevie Nicks vibe goin on, which is pretty cool.

Caz McCaslin – Upward Unlimited
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009About a week ago I was blessed to spend the day in Spartanburg, SC hanging out with Caz McCaslin and some of the amazing people at Upward Unlimited. Caz is the president and founder of the ministry and an amazing guy who is passionate about leading kids to Christ. It was a great day of shooting, but beyond that it was a day where I just got to spend time with someone really inspiring. As I drove home I was so proud to be a part of something that is bigger than me and my camera.
Thanks to the McCaslin family and Brooke for being so cool all day. I felt like a long-time friend as we shot around their beautiful campus and even got the best sweet tea (McAllister’s) on the planet when we grabbed lunch in between locations. Thanks everybody!
Garrett Moore Promo Shoot + some serious rain and missing keys
Saturday, June 13th, 2009Last week another local photog, James Christerson and and I went out with our friend Garrett Moore to shoot some promo pics. You might have seen some stuff I shot for Garrett a while back, but we just wanted to go out, find some cool locations, and generally have a good time testing out new stuff. It was a blast shooting, and we even finished up pretty early because the location we found had numerous different looks all in one spot.
Lucky for us, we got to the car right as it started raining, but then realized that we’d locked the keys in the trunk! Oops…so, the severe thunderstorm rolled through with us seeking shelter in the metal shack you’ll recognize in a couple of these pics. I was honestly a bit scared due to the wind causing the metal roofing to clap loudly over and over while rain breezed sideways through our little rickity shelter. It was an adventure to say the least! Here are my favs from the day + a little video montage I threw together.

SHP and The Hendersons: sneak peek!
Thursday, May 21st, 2009Weather in Atlanta has been less than cooperative when it comes to photo shoots over the past few weekends. Wendie Henderson, who works for The Home Depot corporate offices here in town, was referred to me through an old friend whom I’ve shot numerous times and we played weather roulette for a few weekends, to finally just book our session on a Tuesday night. The summer light is great until really late, so we just found a great spot in their front yard and snapped away until the kids were “done with it”. Such a cute family! I mean, how lucky can I get to have such cute Clients all the time.
Thanks Wendie and the Hendersons for making my job so easy!

Garrett Moore – Re Edit
Thursday, April 2nd, 2009Garrett is a super talented singer/songwriter from here in Atlanta. We did a quick shoot last year, but as usual, as I was going through some old pics, I just wanted to try something different.
If you ever get the chance to see Garrett live, go do it! He’s got a great soulful voice. Check him out on myspace or facebook. It’ll be worth your time.
