So, I guess I’m officially getting old because a week ago I played in a charity dodge ball tournament that Chick-fil-a put on here in Atlanta. It was a TON of fun, but by Monday I couldn’t sit at my desk without being extremely uncomfortable. It’s been a rough week for all parties involved. I’ve been to the doctor, stayed at home to work laying down (just looks kinda weird laying on the floor in my cube at work), Kristine has had to basically do all of the heavy lifting around here (which includes Adler), and Adler has been frustrated by my lack of playfulness.

A Pain in the ….. back?
Sunday, April 27th, 2008S Hunton Photography – Molten Lava
Thursday, April 24th, 2008It’s been way too long since I’ve posted on the blog. The truth is, blogging (for me) is kinda like a journal. I get on a roll and am posting a bunch of stuff and then get slightly busy and fall off of the blogger map completely.
Well, things have been pretty nuts in April for Kristine and I. We totally knew it was coming, but nonetheless, it has been a crazy ride. One of the big events for the month was my trip to Nashville to hang out with a bunch of guys from the old band days. They’re now in a band called Molten Lava and have been creating some “original 80’s” music, so they headed to Nashville to record at Vibe56 studios with our good friend and producer Dave Wilson. The trip was a total blast, I got to hang out in the studio and sing in a couple choruses along with doing a tiny amount of percussion. We had a blast and part of the trip was spent doing a bunch of promo photos for the band, as well as some solo project work for Zach Gump (one of Molten Lava’s lead singers).
I came back with a lost voice and memory cards full of images. It’s been almost two weeks and I’ve finally gotten most of the pictures edited. Here are a couple of my favorites from the weekend:
I am call me Disaster
Monday, April 14th, 2008The first of many pics to be posted from my weekend in Nashville with my friends from Molten Lava. I had so much fun, and it will take me a while to put all my thoughts together on this, so I wanted to post what may end up being my favorite shot from the weekend. There are a LOT to choose from.
Advertising Executive Attire 101
Wednesday, April 9th, 2008I came accross this nearly perfect depiction of an Advertising Account Executive today at Target. Notice his button up shirt, complete with tie only he is indeed wearing jeans and carrying a canvas satchel. Also, his tie is all the way up, so he’s probably a bit of a brown noser and in his first two years at a major agency…Had he been carrying a briefcase and/or wearing slacks, then this theory would be thrown to the wind, but I’m pretty sure this guy is an Ad Exec. Also, keep in mind that this was found in Target, where people who have an Ad Exec salary need to shop (hence, why I found the image
…unlike their counterparts “The Creatives” who shop at more trendy locations and who would have had the button up shirt untucked, and probably sans the tie….also the button up is a stretch for some creatives, who often opt for the rocker graphic tees instead. The only addition I would have made to the image would have been for the guy to be checking his blackberry as he strolls the streets complete with his satchel…there is no doubt a laptop (preferably a MacBook) inside it.
and yes…”i (heart) u”
I survived…
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008We took a little work lunch break at the institution known as “The Varsity” today. Famous for their nice but cranky employees who shout “What d’ya have!?”, chili dogs and my favorite…The Frozen Orange. the place is way over priced, but you just get over it because, after all, it’s “The Varsity”. I had the Chili Dog/Chili Burger/Onion Rings and Frozen Orange combo that weighed in at just under $9. But, the combo meal does come with a free heart attack, so I guess I’m getting my money’s worth. Overall, I survived…and yes…I will go back.
yeah…he must work out
Monday, April 7th, 2008EASTER…
Monday, April 7th, 2008Can you believe it’s April??? Easter passed and we (The Huntons) never got a full post finished…so here are a couple of my favorite pics from the weekend in Houston:
Adler & Daddy Weekend
Saturday, April 5th, 2008Well, Kristine took off for Texas Friday at 4:30, but we dropped her off at the airport around 2pm. Kristine headed to Austin for a bachelorette party weekend and thus my weekend extravaganza with Adler began. This was the first full weekend I’ve had with Adler by myself, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. He’d been sick for the beginning of the week, so I was simply praying that he wouldn’t be in a bad mood the whole weekend.
In the end, we had so much fun together. Friday night we went to hang out with Cameron Clayton and Bobby Shirley at the Claytons house…their sons Colby and Mac are about Adler’s age, so they just ran around the house together. It was a blast, and fun to see these boys growing up. Saturday, Adler and I went to the mall and bought Adler (17 months old) a new pair of jeans (3T !!!). The mall is pretty dang challenging with a baby, so mad props to the Moms out there who do this every day. Adler had an interesting nap schedule too, but we even made it out for some diapers and a new soccer ball at Wally World that evening. I finally got him to bed around 8:30 and after the most random basketball game in history (UNC vs. Kansas) I was in bed by 11:15…this is extremely early for me, but the little guy WORE ME OUT.

Sunday, we got up and went to the 9am service at Buckhead Church…it was awesome and I was so glad to sit with our friends The Huffs. I haven’t realized how comfortable I am in being married to my best friend until I had to walk into our huge sanctuary and grab a seat all by my lonesome. I probably looked really awkward to all of the single people who do this every week…I’m just used to routine I guess. But the Huffs showed up and we had an awesome service. Chrystina Fincher led worship and it was fantastic.
The rest of Sunday was spent playing indoor soccer with Adler and rocking out on my Roland Handsonic drum machine…Adler loved it all and would not let me take a break from the action. If I sat down…he’d just grab my leg and pull me back up for more fun. The weekend was exhausting, but in a joy filled way. I woke up today and got to work with a smile on my face, and somehow feel energized, even after all of the running around. It’s such a cool feeling to be a Dad, especially when you see the bond growing right before your eyes.
I do have to shout out RESPECT to the Mom’s that do this every day. Kristine makes it all look so easy and I really got a taste for how busy she really is throughout the day. Trying to clean up and do a little laundry seemed futile, and I was only able to get so much done, so Kristine “thanks for all you do…I appreciate every effort you make for our family. You are Amazing!”
